Google "Dominant Internet Advertising" and "Best Internet Rankings" to See for Yourself That We Get Results
I Own 2,700 Websites. My name is David Huddleston and I own over 2,700 websites. 1,000 of my websites are devoted to a motivational product I sell to sports and schools, 1,600 are for attorneys and 100 are for finance. We also use our system to set up hundreds of websites for clients, quickly and inexpensively. It took us 3 years and over $200,000 to develop the system we use. You can reach me at (615) 310-2547.
Why I Own So Many Websites. The reason I own so many websites is that one website can't get first page rankings for all the search terms that could bring me business. A good example is "Knoxville DUI Lawyer". Someone searching for a DUI lawyer in Knoxville could type in lots of different search phrases such as "Knoxville DUI Lawyer", "Knoxville DUI Lawyers", "Knoxville DUI Attorney", "Knoxville DUI Attorneys", "Knoxville TN DUI Lawyer", "DUI Lawyer in Knoxville", "DUI Lawyer in Knoxville TN", "DUI Knoxville", "Drunk Driving Lawyer Knoxville", "Best DUI Lawyer in Knoxville", "Knoxville DUI Law", and hundreds of others. The search engines give preference to Domain Names (.com, .net and .org) that are an exact match for the search term. We can show you a lot of examples of this. If you want to see one example, Google "Best Internet Rankings" and look at the top "natural" rankings (as opposed to the Ads - you will have to look closely since the Google ads now look like rankings). You will probably see that I own 4 or more of the Top Ten rankings out of about 80 million search results (you can tell because my name is on the websites - notice how easy it is to find my name and telephone number). To really get results, you need to be on the first page.
Even if you have good rankings on Google, you probably don't also have good rankings on Yahoo and Bing (which now use the same search engine). Google does about two-thirds of the searches, but Yahoo & Bing do about one-third, which is a LOT of traffic. Our sites do very well on Yahoo and Bing.
Why do Domain Names Matter in Search Results? The search engines look for the most "relevant" websites. If you are searching for "DUI Attorneys Knoxville" for example, there is a good chance that www.duiattorneysknoxville.com will be on the first page. Think about it - this is just common sense. I can show you dozens of examples where this is true. Some specific examples are below.
Controlling the Best Domain Names is a Huge Advantage. The internet is the way most new clients find an attorney and every month more people use the internet. We have spent 3 years and over $200,000 buying the best domain names in 8 cities and developing the system that let us put 1,600 attorney websites online. Only one person can own the best Domain Names. I own them in 8 cities for DUI, Personal Injury and Vehicular Accidents, and Social Security Disability, but I am going to lease them to clients (one client per practice area per city). Think about it - What if you could afford to lease all the best billboards, or to pay for most of the best TV ad spots? That wouldn't be affordable, but you can afford to lease most of the best websites. Another reason to lease the best websites is to keep your competitors from getting them. That is part of the reason I own 1,000 websites relating to my motivational products business. That business was my idea but then competitors started trying to steal my customers. Owning the best Domain Names keeps my competitors from owning them and using them to cut into my business. Owning lots of websites brings me business and protects me from my competitors. My competitors can't buy the domain names that I own. In the cities such as Knoxville where we have developed websites to lease to attorneys, I bought all the remaining best domain names. It is impossible for anyone else to do what I have done because I own most of the best domain names.
How We Create and Manage So Many Websites. Creating and managing thousands of websites was a challenge. It took us 4 years to develop a system that allows us to do it. Two brilliant programmers work for me - Matt and Dustin - and I worked with them to develop a system that allows us to put large numbers of websites online in about 25% of the normal time required AND that allows us to manage thousands of websites. It is impossible to do what we do the normal way - that is why other people don't do it. Our system requires 8 servers and we have 4 years of time and $200,000 invested in it. We have learned a great deal by trial and error - that is an advantage of owning 2,700 websites.
The Services We Offer. We offer 2 basic services:
1. I own about 1,600 websites that we lease to attorneys. Our goal is to have the top rankings for the websites our client's lease. Our charge for this is MUCH LESS than the Yellow Pages and there is NO long term contract. Our charge isn't much more than YellowPages.com (which I think is pretty worthless - my reasoning is explained below) or what you might pay for one professionally maintained website. Our websites are online and already ranked. It took us 3 years and over $200,000 to develop the system we use.
2. If our clients want to own websites for other nearby cities for DUI, Criminal Defense, Personal Injury or Vehicular Accident, or Social Security Disability, we can put the websites online quickly and inexpensively. For example, a DUI attorney in Knoxville might want a website targeted to Farragut such as FarragutTNduilawyer.com, which was available when we checked.
Why Attorneys Lease Our Websites. Most of the websites we have for attorneys are intentionally simple. Think of billboards. Billboards don't have a lot of text. Many people searching for an attorney want to call the attorney quickly, and those are some of the best clients. Think of the concept of websites that are like "Internet Billboards" where the person who needs an attorney clicks on a website, sees the phone number and calls. Now think of the advantage of having not just one, but 40, 50 or 60 websites that are like Internet Billboards. Having your name and telephone number on a lot of ranked websites is better than just being on one. I can tell you stories from personal experience of how a large website is sometimes not as effective as a simple website at getting prospects to call a telephone number.
No Long Term Contract. No. We have a simple agreement that we will exchange by email or fax that allows you to cancel with 30 days notice.
We Don't Charge a Front End "Set Up" Fee to Put Our Clients on the Websites We Lease. Not for websites we lease or for adding clients to our Attorney Directories. For obvious reasons we do charge a small set up fee if we are putting websites online for a client.
How Much Is a First Page Google Search Ranking Worth? I have received emails from SEO experts who charge $6,000 to $10,000 for a guaranteed first page ranking.
Comparison of Yellow Pages, YellowPages.com, the Internet, Pay-Per-Click Google Ads, One Website (the typical approach) and Lots of Websites (our approach)
Attorneys are bombarded with so many proposals that it can be confusing.
Below is what I have learned from talking to lots of attorneys and from personal experience. A lot of it is common sense:
Yellow Pages - We all know that every month more people are using the internet to find everything, including attorneys. Common sense tells you that people with money (the clients who can pay) mostly use the internet instead of the Yellow Pages. We know how crazy expensive the Yellow Pages are and that they require a one year contract. We also know that you might be one of 10, 20 or 30 different attorneys listed. How is that an advantage? I don't see how the Yellow Pages make financial sense any more.
YellowPages.com - Ask anyone you know if they use YellowPages.com, YellowBook.com or any of the other similar websites. I don't know anyone who does. Why would anyone use them when they can simply search from Google, Yahoo or Bing? Why would anyone type in YellowPages.com and THEN type in the search phrase they are looking for. It doesn't make sense. I think you are wasting your money to pay for YellowPages.com, and even if someone does use it, you will only be one of many lawyers there, so there is no advantage for you.
The Internet - Clearly the internet is very important because it is how many people find services, including attorneys, and more and more people use it every month. The key is to be ranked on the first page for a LOT of search terms. For most attorneys, one or two first page rankings won't do it.
Pay-Per-Click ("PPC") Google Ads - Pay-Per-Click Google Ads can work but knowledge and experience make a HUGE difference in the results you obtain. I am a 2 million click Google advertiser.
One Website (the typical approach) - One website simply can't cover all the search terms many businesses need to have first page rankings for on Google, Yahoo and Bing. A good example is if you are a "Knoxville DUI Lawyer". Someone searching for a DUI lawyer in Knoxville could type in lots of different search phrases such as "Knoxville DUI Lawyer", "Knoxville DUI Lawyers", "Knoxville DUI Attorney", "Knoxville DUI Attorneys", "Knoxville TN DUI Lawyer", "DUI Lawyer in Knoxville", "DUI Lawyer in Knoxville TN", "DUI Knoxville", "Drunk Driving Lawyer Knoxville", "Best DUI Lawyer in Knoxville", "Knoxville DUI Law", and hundreds of others. It is even more difficult if you are an Injury lawyer and want to cover vehicular accidents such as cars, motorcycles and trucks, or specialize in other types of injury cases.
Lots of Websites (our approach) - The key to getting calls from websites is simple - you MUST have first page rankings. The more first page rankings, the more calls you will get. That is the reason I own lots of websites - the search engines give preference to Domain Names that are an exact match for the search term. Another lesson I have learned is that simple websites are often better. Most of the websites we have for attorneys are intentionally simple. Think of billboards. Billboards don't have much text - they are simple and to the point. Many people searching for an attorney want to call an attorney quickly, and those are some of the best clients. Think of the concept of websites that are like "Internet Billboards" where the person who needs an attorney clicks on a website, sees the phone number and calls it. Now think of the advantage of having not just one, but 40, 50 or 60 websites that are like Internet Billboards. Having your name and telephone number on a lot of ranked websites is much better than just being on one website. I can tell you stories from personal experience of how a large website is sometimes not as effective as a simple website for getting prospects to contact you.
Why the Internet is a Better Value than Billboards, Print Ads or TV. The internet is better and more cost effective because it allows you to TARGET traffic. For example, compare the internet to a billboard on a highway with 20,000 cars per day. Of the 20,000 cars, how many really need or want your services? By contrast, everyone doing an internet search for "memphis tractor trailer accident attorneys" is looking for "memphis tractor trailer accident attorneys". Also, on a highway, 90% of the traffic is the same every day, whereas on the internet it is different every day. In brief, the internet is the modern-day yellow pages. but it only benefits those who have first page rankings, just like a billboard is only beneficial if it can be seen from a highway.
Why Are One-Way Inbound Links ("Backlinks") from Relevant Aged Websites Important? Google was started based on the idea that one-way inbound links were like votes in favor of websites (read the article about Google on Wikipedia for more on this subject). Inbound links are critical to the ranking of websites by Google, Bing and Yahoo. However, to be effective at boosting rankings, the inbound links need to be "one-way" (not "link swaps") and from "relevant" websites (e.g., a website about the law would be relevant to a website about a lawyer, but a website about coin collecting would not). Inbound links from "aged" sites (i.e., sites over one year old) are more valuable than links from new sites because new websites don't have a history. Inbound links from a lot of different domains are more valuable than multiple inbound links from a single domain. Inbound links that are added over time are much more important than a lot of links added all at once (e.g., if the historic pattern of inbound links is 3 per week but 30 are suddenly added in one day, that is abnormal and suspicious, and the 30 links will not be counted). It is very, very hard to obtain one-way inbound links from a lot of different relevant aged websites. Links swaps or buying links on non-relevant websites doesn't help rankings.
